Thank you for the article. You really took me back to days when my kids were babies. The biggest conflict was between me and my mom who wanted me to give my babies porridge on the second month. I had to stand my ground and my babies started their solid around 5 – 6 months. It is really crucial to give them a good start.
Yes, ultimately the decision to start must be individualized. Each child grows and develop at different rate. So while one may be developmentally advanced enough to start solids at 4 months, another may not be ready until 5 months. But generally 4 months is most suitable to start because by this age, the digestive tract is mature enough to digest complex protein, fats and carbohydrates. Thanks so much for sharing a great article that I’m sure will help many new parents to know how to start giving young children solid foods, I’m a mother of 3 and grandmother of 2 and I was a babysitter of triples from when they were babies until they were 9 years old, so I had lots of fun when they were having their meals. I agree with you, teaching young children good and healthy habits will help them to grow healthy and learn about food and what to have and what better not to have. Today we all can find not healthy food at stores and markets, but I believe in good cooking habits also, I might belong to the old school and I love to cook at home most of our meals, I know it’s hard to keep away from treats and sweets but in the long term it will pay off.

You have answered a lot of questions in my mind within the article but I do have one, When making/blending meats and veggies is there a percentage of how much meat to put in with a percentage of veggies? About the percentage in making puree for meat and vegetables, you can use your own references how much you wanted to make, but should less in meat always, smooth in texture and thin in consistency. The most important thing to remember that solid foods must be introduced gradually, One kind at a time for the reason , we can easily to identify the source of any allergic reactions if there is any? But if your granddaughter is able tolerate well and ready for vegetables and meat mixture,then you can go for it. The decision must be with which parents are comfortable. Thank you and stay safe.

Healthy eating can help prevent many chronic diseases. These include obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes. And mostly Americans have one or more of these illnesses. Healthy eating habits are more likely to stay with you if you learn them as a child. it is really good to eat healthy.
